Heavy Rains Destroy Lassalian Primary School Roofs in Kaleo
Teachers and pupils arrived at the school on Thursday morning to find the roofs of key classroom blocks completely removed, with furniture and teaching materials soaked or destroyed by the rain.
“We are devastated,” said Madam Alice Dakurah, a teacher at the school. “The entire upper primary block is now unusable. We don’t know where to hold classes, especially with the rainy season just starting.”
Some community members also expressed deep concern over the condition of the school. “This is a big blow to our children’s education,” said Mr. Issah Karim, a parent. “We are pleading with the government, NGOs, and well-meaning individuals to come to our aid immediately.”
School authorities have called for an urgent structural assessment and assistance to rebuild and re-roof the affected buildings to prevent further disruption to the academic calendar.
